Sharing My Love for Music
Music has always been woven into my life. Growing up in a house filled with melodies, I spent pocket money on tapes at Woolworths, rewinding them endlessly on my Walkman. As a young skater, skateboarding VHS tapes introduced me to a wide spectrum of sounds—from punk to underground hip-hop—while college nights alternated between indie gigs and quiet evenings creating art, cutting stencils, and diving into trip-hop and hip-hop legends like J Dilla and Bonobo.
In my twenties, I found myself drawn to music from across the globe, exploring rich, rhythmic worlds through labels like Analog Africa and Soundway Records. Running club nights deepened my love for electronic music, particularly those sounds that blend global influences. Today, I’m inspired by the emerging UK jazz scene, including artists like Ezra Collective, Kokoroko, and many Gondwana Records artists.
Whether DJing in bars, being commissioned to curate playlists for restaurants, or sharing tracks with friends, music has always been my way of connecting. This blog is an extension of that—sharing curated playlists, unearthed gems, and the sounds that inspire me. I hope they resonate with you, spark a memory, or enhance your day.
